Turks and Russians are viral enemies?

Once, I talked to one Azerbaijani guy. During our conversation, he talked about Turanism.

He asked me “do I know Turanism, a Turkic brotherhood”? Since, I am a Turkmenian from Turkmenistan, of course I do. Turkmenians are part of Turkic group.

Then he asked me, how do I feel towards Russian, positive or negative? I said, positive. He said I am not real Turk. I found it real offensive. Dude, I am turk, and I know it without you. Since then I stopped to talk him.
